My Dear Sweet Patti,
Please accept my sincere apologies for the unforgiveable delay in getting back to you.
How can I begin to express the experience I had not only in your beautiful city of Florence (Firenze) but also staying in such a lovely apartment.
To this day I can in my mind, go anywhere in the city and make my way back home via the Arno.
It was the vacation of a lifetime. My daughters flew out for a week as did my brother on another week. The apartment had everything I could possibly want for a great stay. There was every amenity from air conditioning to washer to add to the overall convenience. The apartment was fully stocked with kitchen and bath necessities. The television came in great and there was no noise from neighbors.
Each day I would open all the shutters to another beautiful sky and say good morning to Italy. I was blessed each day to hear the beautiful and gentle church bells. I actually used my cell phone to record them on my last day so that whenever I need to be close to Florence I can listen to them. After the first week of learning my way around, I could walk to virtually anywhere in 15 to 30 min. The train station is so easy to get to by foot that many days during my month long stay I would leave the apartment around 5:30 am to go and take the train to Monterroso in Cinque Terra. I fell in love with that beach.
I am forever changed by my experience Patti. And I was lucky to have the pleasure of meeting you. You made the checking in and checking out process so easy for me. I hope you are well, and please know that should God or circumstance bless me with another chance to live in your city......and at the Borgo San Frediano........I will be there in a heartbeat.
