Pitti Palace, the abode of the Medici Family is a “must see” during your visit to Florence.
Across the river Arno, just 2 minutes away from the Old Bridge (Ponte Vecchio), stands the 1458 palace, now consisting of a museum with all the objects possessed by the Medici family.

Within the palace there is a beautiful garden known as the Boboli garden. A typical garden made for royal families in the mid 16th century. It  is surronded by famous Romanesque style sculptures and has a big foutain in the middle, with the statue of Neptune, the God of water.

To enter within the Pitti palace one needs to buy the tickets that can be collected on the right side of the entrance. Don’t forget to show your student ID to get a discounted price for the ticket.

After taking a look at the Pitti palace, one can walk towards the Michelangelo square, the perfect spot from which you can get a great view of Florence.
