Ice cream! Who doesn’t have a soft corner for ice-cream? Being in Italy, you cannot miss out on the Italian gelato.  Let’s let you in to a little secret if you have not discovered it by yourself already. In Florence there are ice-cream parlors all over the city but there are two suggestions which will leave you particularly satisfied.

Gelato

The Grom and Vivoli gelateria are just fabulous! The Grom remains hidden besides the steps of the cathedral lying parallel to the piazza. To prevent you from getting too much off the track, the street’s name is Via delle Oche.

Grom Gelato

There, you will probably find a few lucky people who have found the shop already and are waiting to get a taste of the wonderful Grom inventory. Naming a few flavors will give you an idea of how special a gelato can get. Torroncino, which could be translated as nougat, could be an interesting choice.  It is a typical Italian sweet made of nuts and chocolate. How about going for a bizarre combination of caramel sugar with a Himalayan pink salt? Wow that would be worth a try for the folks who like to risk.  The Marron glace’ is a candied Italian style chestnut that could perfectly melt in your mouth while the flavor of the day could dazzle your fantasy instantly. Try the green tee with drops of white chocolate. Such combinations are a must try occasion.

Vivoli icecream FlorenceIf you ever do get over these delicious flavors try the Vivoli gelato, which would come on your way to Santa Croce. Via dell’ Isola delle Stinche is where Vivoli is situated. It may not ring a bell, though Via Ghibellina is the main street from where you could easily find the parlor. The long walks taken around the city could be tiring and having another lovely gelato to freshen you up is just the right option. For the fruit lovers, a taste of the pear with crunchy caramel is definitely advisable.  Or else there is always the Tiramisu’ which will never let you down. Relax, have a gelato and enjoy the moment. Let us know if you liked it!
