Love is in the air….A romantic city like Florence can never pass unobserved. Every year more than 1000 weddings take place here. Sharing the happiness of these events in an environment rich with memories that can take us back to historical weddings of the Royal Medici family.

In my point of view, there has to be a secret hidden deep inside the city walls that makes this place so unique…its as if the trees produce a fusion of romance and oxygen during the photosynthesis. H2O + (R)2 🙂

wedding in Florence
Many dream to come back and get married in such a surrounding.  Its like as if  all the 7 wonders of the world are right here and you can see the world below you from  Piazza Michelangelo.

Now to be honest, how many romantic lot of you have dreamed of getting married in Florence? For some the wish has come true…while others keep it as a wonderful thought within their heart…. forever.. and maybe…make it a dream come true for their future children.

One of the lucky couple to dream with eyes wide open is Tanvi Jindal, non other than the daughter of Sajjan Jindal, one of the richest industrialists in India. Reliable sources discovered that more than 700 people have been invited, most of them coming from India with private air transport. The spouse was keen on getting married in Florence after her 2 year experience here in the New York University at Villa La Pietra. The wedding will be a 3 day event.  All the invites were waiting for this day right since the plan was announced last year, on the day of the engagement.

The 3- day irresistible festivity began yesterday. Today will be the day of the “Mehendi”, one of the many spiritual rituals that take place before the wedding day. Mehendi, more commonly known as henna, is a paste applied on the bride’s hands and feet. The design may vary from region to region since every design has a  different meaning. Wisdom, fertility and protection are some of them and they can be of different shades depending on whether you mix tea, cloves, indigo or lemon to it.

The wedding will take place on the final day. So those lucky few who read this blog and happen to be in Florence, might get to see the newly wed couple around the streets of Florence tomorrow!

Apart from this wonderful event held in the right place and at the right time, I would encourage those of you who are still in a “might-be-done”  stage to gather the necessary and fly straight to Florence without further a due. Come for a brief visit in case you haven’t been here and try imagining yourself riding away in a horse-cart from Michelangelo Square to the city center, to then take a walk across the famous Piazzas. From Signoria to the Cathedral, with one hand  reaching down to your beautiful white dress and the other,  holding the hand of the person you want to be with for the rest of your life…
Just as Theodor Seuss liked to say:   “When you are in Love you can’t fall asleep because reality is better than your dreams.”
