If you like jogging Florence, has spectacular views and places where you can do your training and at the same time enjoy the beauty of our city! Beside Il Parco delle Cascine, or going up and down from and to Piazzale Michelangelo there is actually a lesser known park long enough to satisfy marathoners: Il parco dell’ Albereta or also known as Parco dell’Anconella.
It is located between the left bank of the Arno and Via di Villamagna, if you have good legs you can really do a lot of training from the Old Bridge going east following Arno River, reach the Ponte di Varlungo. Interesting point is to look for the Casematte which are low level homes used to defend Florence from the east / south during the 2nd World War.
On the right side of the park, entering from Piazza Ravenna there is also a coffee shop and during summer also a restaurant and a lounge bar on the top, it’s worth a try and a visit!
