Bless the person who invented “Kebabs”…just awesome! Personally they are, according to me the “real” alternative. In case you are hungry and want to eat fast, 2 minutes and there you go! They are tasty, filling and most important of all CHEAP! In Florence there is no difficulties in finding one. For obvious reasons the doner kebabs focus on mainly a younger generation, since most of the adults who have family prefer sitting down and relaxing in a restaurant.

Kebab in Florence

I would request those of you who do so, to just try them..at least once. If then you are not satisfied then I will not bother you anymore. Of course there so many kebab joints that it could get difficult to decide which one is the best one?.. Well if you follow your instincts one should go to the kebab joint which is packed. As we say, follow the crowd. That option at times could be deceiving. That could be because the location was perfect for people not to wonder too far away. In this case you have another option…follow me 🙂

I’ll suggest a few Kebab joints that are around the city center and which are not below an 80% rating. The meat in the kebab differs from store to store. At times there is just chicken while others have turkey and beef separately.

Via Panicale Indian Doner Kebab

Its just been 2 months since they are open but they have definitely got a 10 on 10 in my scrapbook! Of all the places been in 6 years of my life in Florence they are the kindest, plenty of offers, serve large helpings and other than the doner kebab they offer extremely tasty Indian food! You will find that the chicken and rice are as tasty as the dishes served in the Indian restaurant  at half the price! They offer a kebab plus any refreshing drink just for 4 euros and that not all! Its close to most of the pubs in the center so its worth the walk in every sense. They even remain open upto 2 am!

Via Sant’Antonio and Via Faenza

I often pass the station during the day and especially at night after my soccer practice. I had incidentally passed by this store one day feeling the necessity to stuff myself a bit. I liked their kebab so much that I stopped having my dinner at the cafeteria the night of my practices and made it a point to regularly eat that delicious doner kebab before heading home 🙂 You can find it at Via Faenza at the intersection with Via Sant’Antonio. A 9 on 10 is more than an obligation.

Via Borgo ognissanti

Situated in a different area where one possibly might not be going. Although whenever I wanna see a movie in the cinema, that’s where I head to – Cinema Fulgor. Taking a right from the Cinema and another right at the first turn, you will find the third kebab store in my list. A 9 on 10 for them is more than deserved since they have a few different dishes respect to all the other stores in Florence. If you trust me then try out the Seek kebab. Ask them to cut them in pieces so that the meat spreads all over the bun, that’s a professional’s advice 🙂 I’m sure you’ll like it.

Istanbul Kebab Via Cavour 41

If I am really really really lazy and don’t want to walk too far away from where I am, this is where I go. Ill give it an 8 on 10. The store no doubt is well located and has a decent place to sit and relax.

Via de’Benci

A completely different side of Florence but most this is another zone where many night bars and pubs are located. Its basically the Santa Croce area. Right next to the Moyo lounge this doner kebab awaits you. A couple of years earlier, when the laws of closing up were not too strict, this good old place closed at 4 am! Now of course they do whats possible. The level has dropped a little from the earlier times. I’ll still give it a 7.5.

To my humble opinion I rather not try the others. No hard thoughts but I like to stick to my favorite joints!
