Open Cellars, known more commonly in Italy as “Cantine Aperte” is the most important event dedicated to wine which takes place on the national territory.The event is celebrated every year on the last Sunday of May. Today the 29th of May, there will be 98 wineries that open their doors to wine lovers all over Tuscany. The wineries of the Wine Tourism Movement have opened their doors to fans, connoisseurs and the merely curious since 17 years now. Open Cellars gives you the opportunity to directly In the fascinating world of Italian wine production process of discovering all the secrets.

Year after year, the event has attracted an increasing number of wine tourists reaching a record number of more than one million visitors in the 2010 edition.Given the success of last year, the 2011 edition of Open Cellars promises to be even more full of surprises and events. The farm welcomes everyone to visit the wineries and eat typical dishes of Tuscany. They will also be exhibitions of paintings, of minerals and some typical fossils of Tuscany directly where the craftswoman work.

The farms around the Florentine region that will open to the public are Colognole, Cantine Leonardo Da Vinci, Bacchus in Petroio Estate, Farm Diaella, Piccaratico Farm, Farm Bacchereto, Fattoria Ambra, Real Estate Castelvecchio, Podere Il Sassolo, Tenuta Di Capezzana, Carpineto Castle Oak grove, Villa Vignamaggio, Fattoria Castello di Verrazzano, the Court of the valley- Uzzano, Pasolini by the Wave Farm, Villa Cafaggio Calciniana Farm, Villa of the eyebrow and the Farm Piazzamo.
