The months from April and May and from September to October are usually time for what’s called Sagre, the end of the summer comes along with local festivals aimed to please your eyes and mouth! Every region, province or small village has its own version of them for every taste: from Mushrooms, to Pasta, to Meet and Fish.  For little money you can enjoy great meals in a friendly and informal environment.

In Tuscany there is a big craze for festivals.  Sagre are often taking place in the towns surrounding Florence like Arezzo, Siena, Montelupo, Ciggiano and many more.

In the city of Certaldo (How to get from Florence to Certaldo via Google Maps)The Sagra of  Cinghiale is an Italian cuisine festival who’s main topic is boar meat. So think of steaks, tagliatelle with cinghiale sauce and different salumi.

A pleasant trip to see the town and taste some typical Tuscan traditions along with some wine makes it a perfect day trip during your stay!
