The apartment is on the second floor, with 2 rooms overlooking an internal court, spacious and well restored, with quality materials (wooden parquet, wooden/aluminium isolating windos with high energy/noise performances, high quality materials, use of Km0 chestnut and durmast from the near by amazing Monte Amiata area, lamps design with reused material) and mantaining the original features (brick ceilings from the XIX Cent., pietra serena windowsill, and Marazzi tiles from the Seventies).

It has 1 kitchen with a confortable cooking area and storage, 1 bathroom (limited space, but well organized, with a large shower and design oriented), two spacious double rooms, one of which can be either used as a bedroom or living room. One has a Kig Size bed with a cot and very large storage. The second room (living/bed) has a sofa double bed, storage and bookshelf, desk, plus a children area.

Hi, we are Elena and Massimo and are really happy to have you here. This flat belongs to the history of Florence. It is in the middle of a nice residential area that following the urbanistic revision by Giuseppe Poggi was intended, like this same building you are in, for the new administrators class of Florence during the period it was Capital of Italy (1864). In the area you can also find traces of intellectuals and organisations which decided to reside, in different periods, here, because of the rich cultural background. Just opposite you will find the building that hosted the famous newspaper La Voce, founded 1908 and very culturally influential in the period. Just a few street across, you will find where the writer Gadda wrote is masterpiece “Il pasticciaccio brutto di via Merulana” (That awful mess on via Merulana). We really think this flat is located in a nice area, out of the noisy environment of the city centre but just outside of it. The walk to get to Santa Croce is humble and secretely, while to get to the dome our favourite route is through piazza D'Azeglio, passed the Sinagogue, through via dei Pilastri and via Fiesolana and through a nice quarter of restaurants, bars and shops in borgo albizi..but this is just a suggestion! Massimo is an architect and in restoring the flat he played with original and new materials. Hope you like it. Just some notes. The wooden chairs and tables - for children or adults - are all by our firm, ARCADIA DESIGN. They are totally in solid wood, FSC certified ash or Tuscan chestnut that we are among the few who employ it. They are modular, customisable and circular! You can redesign them at the end. Finishings are completely non-toxic and suitable for food contact. If you really like them, they are available on www.arcadiya.net. Shipping worldwide! The accessories in the bathroom are also made by us, with local artisans and again the beautiful Tuscan chestnut.
